Hi

I know of course when the 993 came out PDC didnt exist, however has anyone fitted an aftermarket kit to their 993, either a noise alarm or visual camera system?

just about to get the car resprayed so dont want to bash the olde bumpers again :)

With the holes mounted on the bumper it would spoil the appearance. Just be careful reversing the car.

I'm considering too, but naturally share Harry's concern re aesthetics. You might want to have a word with Greg at www.autoaudio.uk.com, who thinks his team can install them without the little circles being particularly noticeable. He's showed me a few they've installed, and they seem to look a bit better on dark colors than light colors. It might also be possible to mount them below (rather than through) the bumper.

A woman reversed into car I was sitting in (fortunately a rental car) a while ago. Tried to drive off until I jumped out of car and complained. She actually said "I cannot of hit you, my parking alarm did not go off" (but what about the bang and big jolt ....).

They should be banned - make people turn and look.

I also agree they are ugly. But a camera mounted in the number plate recess might work?

Use the hazard lights, that is what I do. Depending on the amount of light that is bounced back gives me indication of how far whatever is behind me. It has served me well so far.

To be honest, a small nudge will not damage the PU bumper - they are designed to withstand slow speed impacts. Just don't hit anything too fast.

Woman in Car Park yesterday reversed on to a parking drop down bollard (in 4x4)...virtually lifted rear wheels of the ground huge gouge in fuel tank and required two trolley jacks to get the thing off!!!

Had parking sensors......that warned her of pending doom.....but because she couldnt see anything just kept going!!!!

She was still adamant that it was the parking sensors fault...until her irate husband turned up!!!!...

Yip...she was a hairdresser too !!!!

Dont do it![] They never look good. Just nudge back get out of the car half way, and check your distance. Its cheaper and your car will look better.[;)]
