Parking fines

Would anybody know what the local council (mine is Maidstone in Kent) can charge for parking in a non-parking zone (but causing no obstruction)?

Is there a different rate for parking on disabled space and if yes, any idea of cost?

(Just been quoted £201.40, but reduced to £134.42 if paid within 14 days), sounds high andodd, no?

I can't help you with specifics I am afraid, but you should email the Association of British Drivers ( any search engine will give you their website info. ). They would be really interested in your story and may even be able to offer useful assistance.
