Hi all, it seemed that quite a few people at the Gardeners Arms weren't sure about the details for the Parr Open day. As I was there this morning I had a chat with Michelle and here's some info.... (Peter, hope you don't mind me posting this)

First the blurb and then the details.

Parr is pleased to invite you to an exclusive Sussex Region open day at our new facility on 5th February 2005.

Parr was founded in 1985 and is now one of the UK's leading Porsche specialists. The core of the business is our comprehensive range of road car services, which has recently been increased by the move to our new site in Crawley. Parr can offer routine servicing, repairs, restoration and the latest performance upgrades all backed up by state of the art disgnostic and testing equipment, including a new dyno facility.

Parr is well known for its Motorsport division and has an impressive track record for success. Since 2001 Parr Motorsport has been managing the works team for Porsche Cars GB, finishing first and second in the 2001 British GTO Championship. In 2005 Parr will continue its relationship with Porsche Cars GB as the official technical support provider to the British Carrera Cup and also run the VIP car in the series. The motorsport activity allows new ideas and components to be tested under the most rigorous conditions as well as demonstrating the company's depth of engineering excellence. The race team technicians and engineers are the same personnel, who during the week, work on our customer road vehicles. The Parr team brings years of specialist experience and the highest standards to our workshop.

We look forward to showing you what Parr can do for you today and what our plans are for the future. As a Porsche enthusiast you are sure to find the Parr Open Day an interesting and fun day out.

Impressive it is too, from what I saw today. They are expecting to have about 5 areas of the business on display (including the dyno) with a technician at each to explain it and answer any questions. To make sure all visitors get a chance to see and hear what's going on, small groups will be conducted around each area. First tours start about 10:00am and last visitors should arrive by 1:00pm (the staff do have homes to go to !)

Parr are at 5 Farady Centre, Faraday Road, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 9PX.

Tel 01293 537911 or http://www.parr-uk.co.uk/

cheers..........Phil

Here is a copy of the leaflet thanks to Neil Eldred.

Is it open to PCGB members who's ex-partner and children live in West Sussex by any chance???

Tim,

I understand that GT3 owners (and thier chequebooks) are always welcome at Parr...[;)]

Seriously, I've just checked with Peter (Skelton, Sussex RO) and all are welcome.

It sounds like it will be a very interesting day - have fun![:)]

Big thanks to whoever at Sussex Region organised this visit and a huge thanks to Parr.

Very informative day - got so an*lly retentive I surprised even myself. The staff are knowledgable and seemed to be really enjoying themselves. Genuine Petrolheads.

Ruined my best jumper smuggling out a nice 6 pot calliper - now have to save my pocket money for the other calliper the huge discs and the pads.[8|]

The short trip across country was fun, especially as the roads are absolutely diabollical! Let Andy Tims drive back and suffered the filling jolting passenger seat. Bone juddering crumps and grounding made me wonder how on earth the wheels and suspension stand it! Where does our Road Tax go!!!!

I am sure I have seen a new spleen on ebay....

As Andy commented "you don't so much drive it as fly it".

Great day out!

Excellent day, well done Parr. An impressive workshop - a quantum leap from the old one at Godstone .

As TC says - great day. Can't remember the last time I got to be such an anorak, without being castigated for it.

As for driving the GT3 CS back - this was my first drive of one & the roads did it no favours - very badly surface. I was glad to have the PAS, otherwise it would be as hard work as a 964RS. Great noise, good brakes & what an engine - Nice - Want one even more now.

Is that a Dauer 962 in the photo?[8D]

Sorry to miss this - but I was watching a load of Porsches go 'round a track in Florida for 24 hours...
