Part names - help for a novice!

hey all, I have just had a porsche mechanic look my suspension over (out of office hours)... and i've been told I need to change the "lower ball joint arm" and the "track arm". Both for the rear near side.
What are the 'proper' part names - just so I can search online for costs, to compare to the OPC.

Cheers in advance.

Ciarán.

In the latest PET (Porsche Parts Catalogue) the arm with the ball joint is called a Wishbone (item 9). The arm with the forked end is the Control Arm (item 8), and item 17 is called the Track Rod.

Porsche Part Numbers and Prices are:

Wishbone: 996.341.053.16 - £200.18 +VAT
Control Arm: 986.331.043.07 - £128.80 +VAT
Track Rod: 997.331.045.04 - £96.00 +VAT

thanks guys - I need two of those three so! I'll get the mechanic to specify so for when I gauge prices.

appreciate it.

thanks guys - seem I need the wishbone and Track rod.

What's the deal with Hartech's reconditioned parts? Is it the norm for guys on here to buy them - or just when we're a bit cash strapped? :)

I'm probably near the latter description right now - but not sure if there'd be a huge saving once delivery costs are introduced.

thanks again,

C.

I bought my first Porsche from Hartech - a 944. They were excellent then, I have no reason to think otherwise now.

Why not give Barry and his team a call and see how much it will come to. I don't see them going to the trouble of designing and making a specially modified part if the standard one would work out a similar price - I don't see them working that way.
