I've contacted my OPC and your info was invaluable. They were going to insist on a new windstop until I said I was looking at a picture of the clip and the plastic bag that it came in.

Looking at the way it is fitted, my guess is the airflow over the windscreen is actually trying to force it into the passenger compartment. But if you go fast enough, is there eventually wind pressure rewards pushing it backwards, or perhpas the vortex creates a vacuum and sucks it out?

You do need secure underpants though for having someone pull out to overtake in a Micra at 70 mph a few hundred yards in front of you! [&:]
