Parts Costs...

Seeing as we currently have a thread discussing the brake discs and another offering some mags for sale... thought it might be interesting to have a quick discussion about relative part costs???

In particular, I'm being offered a set of Mags for Euro 2500 and a alloy bonnet for EUro 2500 as well... former seem cheap to me, latter seems expensive??? Last ally bonnet I bought cost me Euro 1k!

Thoughts?

Cheers

Rick,

I seem to rember the last set of Mag's on offer here sold for £2k I'd say a year ago, but could have been longer. There seems to be a fair few offered for sale in Germany over the past few months for €2-3k.
The replacement bonnet I bought from Porsche OPC was £1.1k + Vat in 2010. Might be worth checking to see if it is still a listed item through OPC.
I noticed the price of Cup Cup 1 alloy (9.5) wisth have also increased to €2-3k.
As the cars increase the parts will proportionally increase as well, I guess!

Rick,
Yes, wheels, assuming in decent shape seem to be a reasonable price (long gone are the days when a a set was £1,500 !!! - I turned down the opportunity to buy a spare set at that price when I bought my car five or six years ago ........... silly move !).
The bonnets were unobtanium for a while, but the factory re-comissioned some fairly recently (not sure if pre or post Simon's purchase), so they are available new. E2,500 for a second hand one is way too much !
New parts costs seem to have gone up dramatically. This was announced by Porsche a while back and took effect immediately on some parts lines, but it now seems to have spread universally..........

Cup wheels are available again, not magn but normal alloy ones through Porsche Classic.
Prices without and with VAT at the back of the line

Leichtmetall-Cup-Rad 9 J x 17 ET 55 96536212800 911 (1989""94), 968 752,69 895,70
Leichtmetallrad Turbo 9,5 J x 17 ET 68 96536212805 911 (1989""94), 968 800,48 952,57
Leichtmetallrad poliert 8 J x 18 ET 52 (VA) 96536213601 911 (1989""94) 1.507,28 1.793,66
Leichtmetallrad poliert 10 J x 18 ET 61 (HA) 96536214001 911 (1989""94) 1.665,88 1.982,40

I've bought a second hand bonnet for 750€ in holland last year
at this moment Porsche has none in stock anymore (My Porsche centre checked this November last year)
but this can always change, see the wheels above, as Porsche Classic is commissionning rare parts all the time
selling price would have been around 2750€ without VAT they told me then (but parts in Belgium are more expensive as in Germany (or may be UK also?)

Asked for a 937 part in Belgium and Germany, 650+ in Belgium, 500+ in Germany for the same part

These mags would need a proper refurb as well... so all advice above greatly appreciated... for what it's worth, my OPC checked the alloy bonnets in Dec and Porsche didn't stock at that time, but good to hear they are remaking them.

Thanks for input guys!

Cheers
Rick
