Parts for 964 sunroof

I don't know if any friendly 964 owners can help me with some advice regarding sourcing of 964 parts.

My wife's 964 sunroof is not working properly as one of the small plastic arms that depress the wind deflector as the sunroof is closed, has broken. The sunroof opens fine, but to close it you need someone stood outside the car (preferably when it is stopped!!) to press one side of the deflector down. The driver's side arm is fine, it is just the passenger's side that has broken.

This is probably not a common occurence so I guess it is not a widely stocked part...

Grateful for any steers

Have you tried your local Porsche Centre (OPC)
You'll be surprised at what parts they can get you and if you are members of PCGB you can get a 10% discount

As Chris says, the OPC has direct computer access to the stock at Reading - and what they don't keep there is available from Germany in a couple of days. You'll be pleasantly surprised just how much stock they DO keep at Reading for 18 year old cars!! It would help if you could identify the part number of the part you need and your OPC can take an order over the phone.

I'm guessing it will be the part known as a hinge. Both sides are identical - 911.564.127.00 - but you should make sure. I can't attach a PET pdf here so you can't see for yourself although there are Adobe versions of PET available for download.

Regards

Dave

you might also be surprised how reasonable the parts are too.. "bargain new parts" which appear on ebay are in my experience 15-20% more expensive than OPC!..

Got mine from Design911, they even have a drawing on the website for you to look at.

Thanks for all the advice, seems that they are more widely available than I first thought - I've found some at Type-911 £3 ex VAT - I might even buy a spare one at that price!

It's just a shame that I have to sell the car and will be Porscheless - but hopefully not for too long...

Thanks again
