parts pipelines

I am new to both the club and to owning a Boxster which I have owned for about 3 months. When I bought the car it wasn't fitted with a wind deflector as the dealer was waiting for the fixing kit from the Porsche dealer...I am still waiting.
I contacted Porsche Customer Service myself to be told they are out of stock because of a Quality/Supplier issue...my question is will the service I get from Porsche always be as...unsatisfactory?

It's a pity that the people in the business don't take steps to update Porsche's ordering systems to alert the customer if it is expected to take more than, say, 2 weeks to fulfil a parts order.

You shouldn't need to chase the matter. That's poor these days.

Maybe Porsche AG should take lessons in logistics from Amazon.

This might not help you, certainly doesn't answer your broader question, but following a lead from this forum I bought a different wind deflector. Doesn't need riveting, it arrived quickly and it seems, ahem, to deflect the wind. YMMV but here's a link

All the best, Garry

Well I received some feedback from Porsche customer service, they said the would be able to give me some feedback by the end of September...not the parts...just some feedback!!

I think I will be following up Garry's information...

I have just heard from Porsche that the issue with fixing kits for its wind deflectors will not be resolved until 2013 at the earliest!!! What excellent customer service...[]
