Rito Peeps,
My 220 has started exhaust blowing at the short pipe section which exits the bottom of the wastegate (return to exhaust) it is blowing from behind the flange where the pipe meets, we think that it is a floating pipe and when taken off would be free to move but in service a crush ring keeps it in place ,pretty sure this is the problem.
Can anyone confirm that this pipe is free to move in the flange when taken off the car and is kept tight via a crush ring in the flange to wastegate joint ?

No2 I have a slight weep from the oil cooler where it exits the diff, at first i thought it was possibly a gasket but a second wipe over and look see looks as though it is coming from where the pipe exits the gearbox, possibly an o ring which appears to be clamped in place via a bracket holding the pipe, can anyone confirm that an o ring is fitted ?
TIA Jim.

Nice one!!!

Drove past your house last weekend and saw it was still parked up on your drive.

Jim it's been a long time since I took off my standard wastegate but I believe you are right. Here's a diagram from PET and I think you are talking about the copper crush ring at number 39. I can't quite remember if you have clearance to remove pipe 5a by itself, you may have to drop the entire wastegate with it still attached

Cheers Paul.looks like part no 11,does the pipe move in flange (45) and the ring squash and seal it when fitting ?
