Hi all,

Anyone had this I have a 2008 987 GEN 1 - Had the rear shocks replaced and since then keep experiencing PASM failure, when I turn it off and on again at the ignition it clears then comes on at random times, had the car to the usual indie (Same time as MOT) had a software reset and it has come back again ??

Any good ideas ..I suppose I have to go back to the garage :)

Best bet is to get the fault codes read by someone with a PIWIS tester. Without them, it is a guessing game, but it seems a bit of a coincidence that it started when you had the shocks changed. Perhaps there is a bad electrical connection.

I'd agree with Richard that it sounds like it's due to a bad electrical connection.

Early on in my ownership of the Cayman I had a permanent "PASM Failure" warning which turned out to be a pinched cable, presumably caused during the build process, which took a little while for my PC to diagnose and trace. They originally thought that it was a faulty PASM module but the factory insisted that they persued the diagnosis.

The annoying thing was that the system went into SPORT suspension mode, so I was driving around with the rock hard suspension set-up.
