passed mot ! (just), now brake warning lights ...

well, she squeaked through the mot after some ingenious fudging and selective blindness on the part of the tester after the windscreen washers decided to pack up on the way to the test center (clogged with mank and fixed now)..

couple of advisories on the tatty state of the fore/aft brake line and some surface rust on a sill.

which is great ! now i can progress to being irritated by the host of minor problems that will inevitably be thrown up by actually using the car :)

first of which is a brake(?) warning light on the center console, the one with the circle in brackets (?) am i right in thinking this is just the brake lining warning light ? if so, its not a problem*. If not, it could be.

*new discs/pads just fitted, didnt bother renewing the sensors, so probably one of those.

If you have left out the sensors, that is what causes the light to illuminate. Basically they need a complete circuit to extinguish the light, when the brake pad gets low it wears through the sensor and the light comes on.

If you plug in the old sensor plug with the wires twisted together it will extinguish the warning

I haVE TO say congrats on passing the MOT![:D] As the 944 gets older it becomes much more of a relief with each ticket gained.

Sadly, my S2 is waiting to go into my garage (project car in the way) for the huge list of jobs needed for the next MOT, I'm jealous of you having a freshly MOT'd `44.
My car would be uneconomical to repair if I wasn't doing it myself.
