Passenger door won't open.

My friends S2 passenger door has locked shut and will not open, The central locking is not working but the door will not unlock with the key either. When the key is turned in the lock it stops turning before it activates the release mechanism. Slight movement can be felt in the door pin. Before damaging the door card trying to get into the lock mech, has anyone any ideas?

Sorry, no ideas, but if you do get to the stage of removing the door card then it may be easier to take the seat out beforehand .. alhtough that will be a royal pain in the bum 'cos you will have to do it from the 'wrong' side.

Sorry.

FWIW, it sounds like a linkage in the door has either broken or dropped off the lock. Which is a door-card-removal job to fix.

Oli.

This happened to my S2 drivers door about a year ago the locking mechanism refused to budge. I lowered the window and then carefully fished about with a bent wire coat hanger until by luck I tweaked it open. Obviously watched to many dodgy cop shows as a kids. I then removed the door card and found that the plastic arm that links to the door actuator to the lock barrel had come of. Once re-attached it worked perfectly.
