Passenger side door rattle

Since buying the car I have had a distinct rattle coming from what i thought to be the passenger side door. I have removed the door panel, the plastic on the door shell, the rear fitment where the seatbelt is anchored to, the inner wing plastic guard, the boot release mechanism.........ALL TO NO AVAIL...............[].
Has anyone else had the same issue and fixed it!!!
The rattled happens only when you go over a medium sized bump in the road......

My love affair with this car is going through a rocky period at the mo and I'm afraid that it may be the divorce courts if I cant find the problem[:D]

Cheers Kev

I've got a similar door rattle on my '94 C2 passenge door. I haven't dismantled anything and thus have no idea. I too would like to kno the answer.

I sometimes get a ratttle from that side of the car and its normally the seat belt buckle rattling on the back of the hard-backed seats - I just slide the buckle up to the top of the seat belt and it does the trick.

Mine had a rattle which I lived with until I had to replace the window rail inside the doors.

When I got into the door internals the sound proofing pads had gone brittle and disintegrated and large bits had fallen to the bottom of the door and jumped up and down over large bumps.

All quiet after replacing the pads both sides and doors make a lovely sound when closing them.

Kev,
Are you sure it's inside the door? See my thread of seat rattle.

Have you tried driving along with a mate who get look for the cause as you go over bumps. I know how you feel, car was so quiet when I got it and now I've started to hear rattles. I just have to find and fix them.

Tried the seat belt check too.......was wondering if ir was inside the hardbacks also but no joy............the soundprooofing inside the door was also checked. I think the real reason is the window mechanism, I just dont want ot staret stripping that......cant say I've seen a thread on p-car for that.....

Here's an idea...could it be the electric mirror plastic wiring connector (accessed by removing mirror housing from door- dead easy)? Just a thought. My driver's door's rattling slightly.

That's where I'm going to look first as I changed the motor recently! [:-]
