passenger window jammed

Hey guys, been a while since i visited the forums, how time flys!

Ok, need a little advice if i may, my boxster has been sat for a year or so and was working fine when i left it, now the passenger window refuses to budge (its fully closed which means i can only open the passenger door if i take the roof down first, but the drivers side works fine), any ideas?

I checked the fuses, but it looks like both power windows share the same fuse, also took the door panel off and gave all the moving parts a good dose of wd40, still no luck.

As always, thanks for any advice.

Jeff,

Faulty window switch/motor/regulator?

Some ideas here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/77-BODY-Window_Regulator/77-BODY-Window_Regulator.htm

yeah i did wonder that but as it was working the last time i used it (in fact the last time i closed the passenger window was before i closed the roof and left the car in storage for a year), seems strange but just my luck it would suddenly stop [&:]

i was able to find this shortly after i posted here http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/26546-power-window-stuck-fixed.html which is the next thing im going to check (their suggesting dirty/corroded pins in the door pillar electrics box), if that doesnt work then i will try swopping over the window motors to see if thats the actual fault.

thanks for the advice. :)

UPDATE: ok, turns out this thread was right http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/26546-power-window-stuck-fixed.html i took off the "watertight" box (which wasnt water tight at all!) and i could see the modification for the passenger power window had been done before (as per the thread) and it had corroded out again, a quick clean up, one new Red Insulated Straight Butt Connector Electrical Crimp Terminals Cable Wire (to connect the red wire with a blue stripe on it together) and i just saved myself a garage repair bill, all in all im a happy bunny! lol

My advice, check this first if you have problems with your power windows, might save you a few quid. [;)]

Thanks guys.
