Passenger Window Squeak!

Having had a squeak around the rear of the passenger window area for about a year I've done just about everything regarding cleaning the seals, checking their locations and such lubricating them with silicone grease or oil, even to the point of finding a dry film silicone lubricant but while it clears for a while it always returns.

So it has been for about 6 months of trying but at last I seem to have tracked it down to the weatherstrip on the outside of the passenger window, it's either that or something in the window mechanism. The felt of the strip is in good condition but whereas the driver's door weatherstrip is solid on the door the passenger side flexes significantly for about the rearmost 6 inches and so seems to be moving around on the location step.

I'm a little reluctant to try pulling the strip out as I can't see how it locates. I have sprayed some silicone oil and grease in and it stopped but once it dried out the squeak returned so I'm pretty sure I have identified the whereabouts of the fault.

Anyone know how to remove/refit the strip?[8|]

Currently considering getting a new strip as much to take a look as to actually use.

Well, after looking into this and finding so far that my strip looks to be perfectly ok if more flexible to the rear end than the other door seal I was looking on the Planet-9 site for similar faults. Faults in that area came down to a few had found that their weatherstrips had folded over and jammed the window, a rare fault and nothing like mine. The other fault which also effects Carreras ( to be expected ) and seems to be very common in the US is a nut below the front end of the rear quarter light, to access this means removing the cover over the seat belt mount, I did try this months ago but couldn't remove the cover and the nut felt tight through the gap anyway. This time I got advice off Planet-9 and got the cover off, backed off the nut steadying the bolt using an allen key and then tightened the nut using a 13mm spanner and supporting the bolt with the allen key. Took it for a spin and not a chirrup, wonderful![:)]
