passenger window

Hi all, my passenger window is not working from the driver or passenger switches. I have swapped the switches over and they work on the drivers side. I have tried a new relay, is there anything else before I start stripping the door lining?
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Vince,

There is something in the back of my mind which I'm sure I remember about the need for BOTH switches to be operational for the passenger window to work.

You need to try both passenger switches as replacement for the drivers' window to find out which one is faulty. One faulty switch will make BOTH switches inoperable.

The other problem - slightly unrelated - is that the window lifter bar often separates from the glass, so when you operate the switch, the motor operates but the glass doesn't move. If this is the case it's neccessary to remove the door card and either relocate or replace the lifter bar. Using some adhesive to attach the lifter bar to the glass is effective albeit "not nice".

Hope that helps.

Regards

Dave

Dave,
Thanks for that, I thought the same about the switches and thought that I had tried them all but that element of doubt has now set in! Interesting about the window lifter bar as initially I thought that I could hear the motor running.
I will post my findings
