Past service History

Hello,

I am trying to locate previous service records on a 911.
I tried Porsche UK to see if they could check with all UK Authorised Porsche dealerships, but they do not provide this service.
Any ideas pls on how I could trace past records?
I dont really want to ring each dealership!

Many thanks

Amolak

PS How can I tell from a chassis number if the car was an orignal super sport?

You cannot tell from the chassis No alone I believe. It may have M491 listed in the options of the handbook. But Tony Corlett is the man too ask.

Virtually impossible to track on paper. You have to get the option code list and find 491. However, some earlier TL or SSEs didn't appear to carry the option.

You can get the official list from Porsche Cars GB - you will need to give them the individual chassis number.

This is what I did with my 911... It had records but I was able to boost the history quite a lot...

I contacted DVLA and they were able to provide the details of all changes of ownership.
I then contacted all address that were on the reg documents. By phone if I could get the no from dir enquires or by writing.
I found all apart from one of the owners by doing this and was able to get some bills and info from them.
I also rang the garages that had done work on the car and found one of the owners through a place that had serviced the car

Depends on how much info you have but you can definatly get a good start by contacting the dvla and getting in touch with prior owners.

Not sure ifrom your message whether the car is yours yet or not. Not sure about DVLA's attitude if its not.

cheers

Andy

My car came with a full main dealer service history, but no paperwork other than the stamped service book.
I telephoned the OPC (Merlin Cambria) and they were able to re-print every invoice for the car. I was really impressed with the service.

If you don't own the car yet then ask if they can fax you a service history summary.
