Pays to complain...

Following on from the post I submitted about waiting for sport design wheels post delivery...
I made a complaint on two occassions to the OPC with little response other than a promise from them to get it sorted as soon as possible.
I responded to the Porsche sales & marketing material they sent me post sale with a full on rant how I feel it is an unacceptable service level etc etc.

The OPC have written to me offering me a Porsche Driving Experience.
I think I can live with that for the time being :)

Count - if you are reading this and have now taken delivery of your car without the wheels you wanted I would suggest you do the same.

Good job!

I think I advised you to complain to Porsche GB but sounds like you hit the mark with that!!

Have a good day at Millbrook!

Jamie

I was told today that my car is all ready for collection apart from the plate transfer which they think will be sorted tomorrow or Wednesday. If I do get a set of Sport wheels I am going to be surprised really. I would have hoped really that the OPC would give priority to Jimberland if he has been waiting longer than me. I would be hacked if someone got the jump on the same wheels I was waiting for (assuming we are talking the same size wheels ?).

Jamie - I did both. In the letter to me they quoted my Porsche Impressions website comments. Hopefully my letter to Porsche GB will keep the pressure on. Thanks again for your advice. Can't wait for Millbrook, your description of the day has got me quite excited!

Count - No worries if you get yours first. I think it is luck of the draw with these things and maybe how busy the salesman you dealt with is. In my opinion, as with most customer service related things these days, it seems some people are more receptive to client expectations than others. Let me know if you do so I can really throw my toys out the pram. I won't mention names, but it is handy to be able to call there bluff so to speak.

OK, well my wheels are 19s as well.

I really wanted the Turbo wheels, saw a set on eBay that I bid for and won this evening. It might mean I get Jimberland's wheels, only to change them over for these new wheels and then eBay my Sports.

How much are a set of Sports worth on eBay if they are in mint condition ?

Haven't seen any sports on e Bay but the Carrera S alloys have been going between 1000 - 1200.

I am picking my car up this Friday.[:)] The wheels are sorted they said today. I already have a potential buyer lined up for the Sports and I am hoping to pick up the Turbo wheels tomorrow so I might try and get the tyres swapped over straight away before the wife even sees the cars. I have a habit of messing with wheels on my other cars so I need to display some sensitivity given I haven't told her yet I've bought the car[:D]

I am hoping to keep it in the garage and maybe she'll not notice for a while, in any case I'm probably going to get some flak for the car so maybe the wheels are just another nail in my coffin!

The saga continues...
I'm not sure if i am being fed bullsh*t by Porsche now...
The ever so helpful people at Guildford Porsche are telling me that although they have a used 06 C4S in with Sport Design wheels I can't have them because they won't fit my C2S.
Is this true? I can't believe Porsche make different size wheels for different models.
If this is the case how come Turbo wheels fit a C2S?
God I'm sick of this...

I was at Guildford today to get an iPod fitting on my car and it has the Sport wheels fitted now. I'm picking up tomorrow.

I thought the wider body cars all handled the same wheels with no trouble. I know there is a different tyre you can fit on the wider body cars but I'm pretty sure the wheels can be swapped (assuming you are going to have them re-fit your tyres).

Which sales guy are you dealing with ?

Turns out the wheels are slightly larger on the 4 & 4S
Just looked at the online price list.
They are the same size at the front, but very slightly bigger at the back.

Sport Design wheels
2 & 2S: 11J x 19 ET 67 with 295/30 ZR 19 tyres
4 & 4S: 11J x 19 ET 51 with 305/30 ZR 19 tyres

Same with the Turbo wheels.

I'm dealing with Marc Sears and Amine Ayouche.

I have the Carrera Sports on my C2S, these are also 305mm at the rear

Still no wheels!
It would seem 19" Sport Design Wheels for a Carrera S are rarer that rocking horse cr*p!

I wrote to Porsche GB HQ Customer Services who have been about as much use as a chocolate fire guard.
A response along the lines of...
"I'm sorry, you will just have to wait, Guildford Porsche are doing all they can and have been more than generous in offering you a track day as a goodwill gesture"
When I suggested they give me a brand new set direct from the factory, this was met with silence and a very clear, no chance sir. I think this is totally unacceptable, why should I wait for something that was agreed as part of the sale?

Does anyone have any further advice I can try?

Otherwise I guess I have to put this down as one of lifes little lessons... don't sign on the dotted line until the car is exactly how you want it / agreed as part of the sale, not matter how excited you are about getting it.

ET51 offset will not fit the C2S. I fitted a pair on the rear of my C2S & they stick out by a few mm's. I ended up selling them of flea bay & buying two rears with the correct ET57 offset.

Count, a friend of mine potentially wants to buy your wheels for his 997 C4S. I have sent you an e-mail with his details alternatively my web site has a contacts page for me.

Hi Jamie

I have just left a message for Steve.

The Turbo wheels are the only ones the wife has seen so I need to lose the Sports from the garage before she questions the four massive cardboard boxes.
