The mere fact that people who are into track days often remove them in favour of steel discs confirms, at least to me, their unsuitability in that domain.

Thankfully Gary I have them on mine. No sign of any wear at all and that's with 63k on the clock. The pads are about 1/3 worn.
No squealing and no dirty wheels are a real bonus too.
If they were that bad for track days then why do race cars have them fitted. Perhaps it's more to do with the expense of replacing them if they get damaged or maybe people like to change to different pads that are not available on PCCB
You do have to be aware that the discs will not tolerate as much impact as the steels, especially on the edges, so it pays to be careful when removing/replacing the wheels!
Those who have them seem to love them, and the associated benefits.
But, brakes are a consumable, and some people who do a lot of track work might go for more cost effective alternatives such as alcons or similar, although the Carrera Supercup race cars use PCCBs..

All pretty positive feedback really
Early wear therefore seems rare, a fact also confirmed by the test track at Silverstone who say PCCB last well and they are used on track everyday. occasionally they have the inner rear going but thats because its a RH circuit and the track is too short to let the discs cool down.
