PCGB Register Display Day Sat 8th Sept 2012
Calke Abbey, Ticknall, nr Derby
Heritage Open Days, National Trust and the Federation of British Historic Vehicle clubs have all collectively made this venue possible at no cost to the club, Entry is FREE and I have negotiated we are the only car club using the facilities with enough space to have a register assembly where the publicity blurb says "Gleaming Porsches lined up waiting to be admired etc " Space has been provided for at least two hundred Porsches, so your assistance in promoting the day would be immensely appreciated. It's going to be the assembly point for "The Frontrunners" and no doubt the place to be for some model anniversaries, the 968 is 20 years this year and maybe others you are going to remind me about. I don't want to turn it into a commercial event with sponsors etc and the land owners don't want that anyway. It's an opportunity for the Registers to have a venue to meet up, picnic etc, show off their cars, no concours, but we will have a Sponsored Car Advisory Service - Paul Stephens Ltd (and staff) will be on hand to offer specialist knowledge about most Porsche models , valuations etc I plan to have a small marquee for membership and meeting area which needs setting up the night before (assistance much appreciated) laying out parking etc.
The venue - nearly 2 miles off the main road, by an excellent one- way road, and return via another similar road. Stately Home, out buildings, restaurant, loos etc 600 acres of wood and grass land designated National Nature Reserve, wonderful walks, deer enclosure, sheep, wild life etc. Our area allows for 200 +plus cars and will be cordoned off.
The venue will be open to the public and we all park on grass.
Our allocated site is as near to the house and buildings as its possible to be "" just a few seconds away.
Please tell your registers and regions . I/We need all your support. This is an attempt to organise a low budget event with limited sponsorship to cover costs.
Narinder at club office would like to know on my behalf who is coming please advise ..
