General Notes
If it says "Non Member" by your name, you need to confirm your Membership Number and Forum Name to Sophia at Club HQ (email forum@porscheclubgb.com ) This should be a one-time fix, and will also allow you access to the member-only areas of the Forum.

Marks right Amolak [:D]

The forum software cannot automatically interface with the membership databsse so just email your details to Sophia and she'll sort you out

This situation is ridiculous and it is time it was fixed!!!!!
I spoke to Nic at the Club Officials Seminar regarding this and he agreed with me. I am sure we are not that hard up that we cannot afford to put this matter right[:-][:-]!!

I don't think the bulk of the membership would be pleased if we spent several thousand pounds to automate this on a system due to be replaced anytime soon...

To be fair I think this forum is no different to most others in this aspect. For example I had to mail the MX5 OC when I joined to have my status changed on their forum so I could access member-only areas. It's something each member has to do once only, which isn't a huge hassle, though I can understand it might be frustrating waiting to get confirmation so you can see what only members can see.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Even on forums where you can optionally make a donation to elevate membership (Rennlist for example) you have to wait for an admin to process the payment as I recall.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

There is nothing wrong with the current system other than the fact not everone carefully reads all their Email. Maybe a notice regarding the forum and its use could be inserted into the Porsche Post.

Why have the membership number in the sign up at all?
I think it is the fact that you type in your membership number and you still get non-member that creates the confusion.

That was the bit that threw me at first.
I've entered my membership number when registering on the forum to confirm belonging to the club & the I have to send a separate email to confirm my status again ?????????

Just got the email, thanks for that! That was where i was a bit confused, as i had already put my membership number in but it still said non member, i thought my number was wrong.

A rewording of the email perhaps - with the info clearly stating what to do FIRST.
People just hit the link to go to the forum and don't read anything else.

(Disclaimer - It's been a long time since I saw one of these emails - so maybe it's changed already!)
