The following paragraph will also appear in the July issue of PP.

The problem most model Registers have is the proximity of their members. Since we are scattered far and wide and 964s don't total the largest number of Register Members in the Porsche Club GB, organising regional events can be quite difficult, if not impossible! With this in mind, I'm hoping that an informal gathering of 964s can take place at Chateaux Impney on the 18/19 August, at the PCGB National Event. If you think you might like to come along and park your 964 amongst the company of its own kind, please drop me an email (or PM).

Is take the lack of response due to nobody either wants to go, or can't go?

Even if you can only provisionally say you will be attending, I need to know now, or otherwise the 964 Register WILL NOT HAVE A SPACE ALLOCATED at the National Event.

HQ needs to know, within the next seven days (ie. by 21st June), how many cars will be attending from each Register.

Hi Amanda
I see I'm a day late - but I'd like to park with the 964's at the National Day, if it's going to happen. I've sent you an email to your PCGB address as mentioned in the latest Porsche Post. Hope to see you and other 964 owners there on the Sunday

Robert Young

Robert, I received your email this morning.

For info for anyone reading this thread after 22nd June - I have asked the Event Co-ordinator for 5 -10 parking spaces. Hopefully this will still provide enough space if anyone has a change of mind at the last minute, or the weather turns hot - which normally has the effect of bringing people out in the same way as it does ants.

er........I'm also late responding, sorry. I would like to book a parking place provisionally but not 100% sure if I can make it yet so I am probably not being very helpful.

It's the "Southern Chapter" - Empress of Blandings, Copythorne, SO40 2PE, 2nd Tuesday of the month.

I think the maximum spaces we will get is 5 for each day. You will also need to book in advance and ensure you have the correct label for your windscreen - if you don't, then you will be directed to public parking. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

I am not able to get the wrist tags/labels for you I'm afraid, they are only available direct from PCGB events team when you book your entry tickets.

Guys, for those of you attending it looks like Amanda won't be able to be there to look after you. So, you'll have to look after yourselves regarding register parking over the weekend. If anyone would like to step into help then they should contact the Events Co-ordinator, Ricky Caesar, to ask what needs to be done : eventscoordinator at porscheclubgb.com

Plan to be there on the Sunday and said to Amanda that I'd display the car with her small 964 display. Not sure now how that is going to work out Steve, as by all accounts we need a separate pass to get into the main area - otherwise its the car park. Anyway, if you need it, I'm happy to help and do whatever on the Sunday.

Robert

Thanks Robert. I *think* the way it works is that whoever is organizing the display has the passes and sends them out by post or gives them to folk as they arrive at the gate. In the absence of anyone doing this for the 964 register, I guess the best thing to do is to e-mail events@porscheclubgb.com and ask if a pass can be left at the gate with your name and reg on?

Apologies to any other 964ers in advance that I won't be there myself. The static display/concours/parking in a field type of event is just not my sort of thing.

Just emailed HQ and we'll see what happens - can't say that I hold out much hope on this. Probably the public car park beckons. And just like you, parking cars in fields isn't my bag either but as I'm new to Porsche and the 964, I thought I'd give the National Day a go and would prefer to be with other 964 owners than not. Perhaps this will be the first and last.

Robert

Firstly, I apologise for not being able to attend.

For those who do not yet know why, my reasons are simple - my Porsche and I were knocked off the road by a 40 tonne left-hand drive articulated lorry (driven by a Hungarian) on the M25 last week.

It also turns out that the tickets you should all have, were sent to my former address - an address I vacated five months ago and notified the Club about back in April!! On top of everything else that's going on, I'm a little miffed about this to say the least.

I am now, finally, in possession of these coloured tickets. If you have booked for the 964 display please either PM or email me with your address and I will post the ticket out to you by first class post. Thursday, will be the absolute latest day I can post these by to ensure you will have them before the weekend!

So who is actually going to this, as part of the 964 display - or am I going to be 'Billy No-Mate' on my own?

Robert
