Althorp, 15th and 16th August

Bookings are now starting to be received for Althorp. More details on the event are available in the events section of the PCGB Website, later this year it will be ten years since the launch of the Cayman S Gen1 and I intend for the register to have a display but at this point I have no information on how big a display we can have, once I do know following the AGM in mid April I will be requesting cars for display.

Hi Keven I have already sent off my booking form for this event and I'm planning to enter the National Concours with my Cayman Gen 1 as Althrope House in 1996 was my first event I attended then I joined the Porsche Club so Keven if your after a Gen 1 Cayman S Your welcome to use my car for your display of 10 years since this excellent car was launched to the Porsche world. I can be contacted via email of cayman34@icloud.com or call me on 01206865962 or 07779962219. Yours Kevin.

Thanks Kevin, I have had another who wants to display their car but until I know how large an area we will have I can't really say how many cars we can show

I spoke with the new register director Albert Walsh and the club chairman Peter Bull this weekend and we will have a display area to take up to ten cars, I would like to have at least a Cayman and a Cayman S of the 987 Gen 1 & 2, a Cayman R, 981 Cayman and Cayman S, GTS and hope to scrounge a GT4 anyone know where? Maybe as Jeff suggested one of the dealerships. Maybe someone in the register has a track car to show?

Hi Kevan Your welcome to my white gen 1 Cayman S 2006 car for Saturday if your after a car for that day only thats if I don't attend Silverstone on the Saturday but my Cayman will not be available for the Sunday as I an thinking of entering my car into the National Concours on the Sunday. Your more than likely to be using your Gen 1 Cayman S on both days but my car is there if you need it. With reference getting hold of a Cayman GT4 maybe speak to Porsche GB in Reading to see if any cars ordered by uk customers will have there cars by August and there's two other Cayman's you have not thought of and both are Gen 1 Limited Editions - Cayman S Design and Cayman S Sport. Also an idea for cars for the display maybe look for the rarer Colours over the Standard Colours as they may make a better display for the 10 years of the Cayman motor car. Yours sincerely Kevin.

Hi Kevan I would like to park with the Cayman Register on the Sunday. Not entering any competitions. Trevor

Hi. I'm director of parking at Althorp - must have done something really bad in a past life [:D] My 981 Cayman S should be first on site so it would suit me to park it in the Register display but not if a Register member has already asked for the slot. I have already spoken to Chris Seaward about trying to secure a GT4 for the event. If we can, we will but there are no UK cars yet and a big queue of customers so no promises. Maybe a Club member will get an early delivery and be able to help?

Rob/Kevan, Just a thought but I believe that the PEC Silverstone will be getting their GT4 in July. Maybe they could be persuaded to part with it even for one day, or part of a day? Althorp's not too far from Silverstone. Jeff

Hi All I have a Cayman GTS and have booked for the Sunday if that helps? Yes I know my name says "997" but time moves on:) Clarkey

I'll check with Silverstone OPC re the GT4 Jeff but I know there is a Porsche display which may even be by Silverstone not sure on that, thanks for the responses so far everyone please keep them coming in and must get on and book my tickets too

Just to clarify my comment Kevan, I was meaning the Experience Centre rather than the Silverstone dealership. The PEC Manager/Chief Instructor told me he was hoping to get a GT4 in July. If I'm over there for a Region 10 meeting sometime soon I'll see if I can get an update. Jeff

Chris Seaward is on it... If a car is potentially available from Porsche then we will secure it - if a member can source a customer's car (they may even be the customer) then please contact your friendly Register Secretary!

Hi Kevan My 2.7 981 is available all weekend as we discussed at the Conference. Let me know is you still want it.

Yes Please Peter, I'm looking for Cayman and Cayman S of each model minimum, some have been in touch but I'm going to begin contacting those I know are likely to be there since few have come forward.

Thanks Rob, now I have 981 in Yellow and 981 S in Red hoping for a GTS to join them for the weekend! So far I have one offered by Steve Clarke for the Sunday. For 987 G1 so far my own S for both days, someone rang me about a month ago for their 2.7 so please give me another call. I'm also wanting a Cayman R, a gen2 Cayman & S etc

I currently have three GTS's offered for the Sunday but none for the Saturday and so far I have no Gen 2 Caymans offered but I will soon be emailing members who I think may be interested directly which really means those not living far away. So far there is a growing display for the Sunday with 981 Cayman, Cayman S and GTS, a 987S Gen1 Race Car, 987S Gen 1 so for the Sunday the display is half full with a few members to contact who I have so far missed when they called me but where I can I will be calling them back. May have to resort to buying myself a Gen 2 S to display well it could be a good excuse for an upgrade... Anyone interested in a high spec Gen 1 S 86,000mls and warranty until October next year?[:D]

Kevan, I'll definitely be attending on the Sunday [still not available for the Saturday at the moment I'm afraid] so can bring along my silver 987 Gen2 S for the day if that helps. Jeff

Hi Jeff, by all means bring us your Gen 2 S on the Sunday, can you please email me a spec list showing what options you have fitted and I'll get it typed up for the event. I now also have a Cayman R for the whole weekend in Peridot so the colours are mostly bright! With luck I will soon be able to publish a list of the cars and which date they are on display.
