Hi,

I'm new to Porsche ownership and would like to come along to the next R11 meeting. I undertsand its 8pm next Tuesday. Can anyone advise how these meets work, etc.

Thanks!

Les.

Les, welcome "P" world and to R11.

Just turn up and head towards the back of the car park. Park your motor and introduce yourself to anyone drooling over their or someone elses car. Some of the guys have T-shirts with Essex region and their names on them although if its cold you may not be able to see those outside but you will when we move inside.

I did just the same last year and everyone is very approachable and friendly.

I am hoping to make it next week as have missed quite a few.... Look for car in my Avatar with the Reg "C2S ....." - Just turned 30 - told I look younger.... if that helps to identify me.????

It's the one with the broken nearside front fog light. [;)]

Do come along Les. We are a great and friendly bunch though it can seem a bit strange at times as, with many people knowing so many, there is a possible tendancy for people to shoot the breeze with those they know and miss out on chatting to new faces.

I am a shy 40+, so don't talk to any body.

The monthly meets are great fun, and as the evenings get longer, we get to do more tyre kicking. I the depths of winter our RO gets in all sorts of people to address us on Porsche related subjects so still great fun.

The real entertainment starts when we start doing other gatherings, convoys, Champers'n'chips and the like so do come along.

Thanks for that John - I 'll have the dirty replacement in by then!!!!

Ok I'm on for tomorrow after a short absense....

Didn't have time to clean the car at the weekend.... and it is not as shiny as usual with mud down the sides. Anyway I'm going to have to clean her under the flood light at 2000hrs tonight in the cold [:(] ... I hope you guys appreciate my efforts.... [:D][:D][:D]

But I did have time to replace the fog lense and put the rubber protection strip back from under the front spoiler.... the thing now is that I had a brighter BMW marker bulb in the smashed fog section and now I need to get another as one side is brighter than the other.

Do we have any guests tomorrow ?

I think it's some chap doing a talk on how to repair fog lamps :ROFLMAO:.

I wouldn't worry too much about washing the car Will, although I am giving my upgraded headlamps their first road test so I might be looking for something to illuminate.

Hi Les, Everyone

I have no idea whatsoever how it works but I'm heading over for my first R11 meet as well. Look forward to meeting you all.

Look out for the White SC.

See you all there guys.

Took your advice John and left her all dirty........... ooh err[;)] It was too cold, I have a cold and it never would have dried. Anyway I'm going to do a big clean with a Zymoling in the next few weeks......

John do we need to wear "CAR - NATIONS" so the newbies know who we are.....? You take pink and I'll have yellow. Second thoughts I'll just wear a cap to keep my head warm.[:D]

Shall we tell Jerry and Les about the initiation now or later..... later maybe we don't want to scare them off.....[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

[:-]

I always think it is very cruel in the winter any way.

I can't make up my mind wether to come in Beaky the Porsche or Fred the Freelander tonight. I think I might be better off in Beaky as I wouldn't want anyone to run into Fred. :ROFLMAO:

Just don't let Fred get too close to "the mistress" (as the girlfriend calls her). They could get excited and tow bar + glass just don't go.[&o]

Right I'm leaving the orifice in 15 mins then doing the commute, collecting the car and Regiment way me up ............ C U all soon.

Crapola! Late. Good talk didn't know who anyone was. Met a few people so it was a good start and thanks for the encouragement. C u next time or maybe at the ACE unless someone mentions initiation again!

Sorry, I didnt get a chance to 'mingle' too much. I agree it was a great talk. I'll be working on those stone chips this weekend! I'm also looking forward to the next meeting at OPC Colchester....

I counted up my stone chips and I don't think a weekend will cut it! I am getting a large touch-up aerosol, some meths, glass paper or whatever and making a small project of it. I don't know about you but I have got some paint damage that looks like it needs a rust inhibitor before any colour paint. Any ideas?

OPC Colchester is a bit of a hike but I will make it if poss. Maybe do a convoy depending on where you live at least that way we will recognise each other! Course it depends on the location but I reckon the A12 is going to be a popular route!

Jerry, I'd be happy to meet up and go in 'convoy'. Where are you based? I'm just around the corner from the Regiment Way centre...
