PCM 2.0

The PCM on my 2004 C4S looks like it's lost its signal and has grainy lines horizontally on the screen. It occasionally flickers to the original screen.
Is this a known problem? And is it terminal or can it be fixed?
Thanks

Yes, it is a known problem, but fairly rare. There are people who fit new screens. Try the list below. The links might not be too accurate, but you should be able to find what you need:

Thanks Richard.
I managed to buy a replacement unit off Ebay for £300. I am going to look into getting the old one repaired though as I'd like to keep the car original.

PCM maps are always a bit out of date, due to (I'm told) some agreement between Porsche and Navteq, who supply them. PCM1 used in the earlier cars is very out of date, but you can get Vauxhall/Opel maps of 2011 which work in some PCM1 versions, but not all. PCM2.0 (from Sept 2002 on) is better, and the latest map disks are dated August 2012. Neither system has postcode searches, by the way.

PCM2.0 doesn't have user-entry security codes. The PCM and DME decide if they recognise each other's codes when you switch on the ignition. Having said that, I'm sure I have read somewhere about people swapping them without codes, but I wouldn't like to guarantee it. I believe people like Maple Audio can remove the code from the PCM though.

Fitted the pcm 2 but the map is stuck on London and won't move even when I put in new coordinates. Also clock stuck on the time I set and doesn't move.
Any help welcome.
Thanks

It hasn't picked up the satellites yet. Move it to where it has a clear view of the sky for about 20 minutes (switched on). It gets its time signal from the satellites too.
