Hi there,

Looking for some help please from experienced members!

Have just purchased a fantastic and mint 997.1 Turbo and investigating the benefits to upgrade the firmware on the PCM and SatNav unit to get the most out of the OEM package.
I know I can get latest maps for the SatvNav circa 205/2015 to fit into the DVD unit in the boot but have seen some people offer to upgrade the firmware to version 3.1. Is this possible?

Have just had fitted a Dension 500s BT so don't want to mess up the settings as had to have it coded to open up the CD auto changer as one didn't come with this car.

Current SW is Version 4
PCM 05395BDI/4505
Software 05462ADI/4605
Nav 00174436/2906

Thanks in advance.

Harvey

Hi Harvey,

Similar situation to you as regard having the PCM2.1 on my Gen1 and wanted to keep it original. I took the plunge and went for the 2015 DVD upgrade direct from Porsche (Byfleet) and they took care of everything. It was not the cheapest option but after researching for quite a while, the Official Centres have the correct Firmware etc etc and will make sure it all works ...... There is no shortcut basically.

Hope that helps. JP

Click the link I gave earlier and that'll take you right to the topic. It's headed 7 digit postcodes, but deals with PCM upgrades.
Regard,

Clive

Thanks Clive but the link just jumps to the forum index page. I searched the heading tile but it didn't come up. Could you please post the link again?

Cheers
