PCM 3.0 - GPS - Zero Satelites???

Hi all,

PCM3.0 just gone a bit funny on me, the Trip tab states that it is not picking up any Satelites...??

So, I'll have to book her into West London for a check.

Got a big drive North at the weekend, typical ;-(

Any pointers people, to the SatNav problem, any experience out there??

Cheers
Mark

I assume you've tried it in various locations.

The GPS aerial needs to "see" the satellites. Obviously overhanging trees, tunnels, high buildings etc. can mask the signal.

Try re-installing the DVD. Failing all this, it may be a GPS aerial problem, faulty connection etc.

Good luck. [;)]

Regards,

Clive

Not specifically to PCM3 but there has been previous mentions of the GPS aerial cable becoming disconnected.

ORIGINAL: Lancerlot

Try re-installing the DVD.
No DVD on the PCM 3, Clive!
Sorry Mark, not had any probs like that (so far![&:]) Mine picks up satellites when the car is inside the garage! Looks like a trip to the OPC[:(]

Feedback from Porsche is that a faulty connection between PCM3.0 and the GPS aerial was to blame.

On the same issue, my Uncles's Cayman S also suffered the same issue, could be a faulty part. Anyway, it all helps with the collective knowledge on these things.

Thanks for all your feedback, issue now resolved.

Cheers

Its usually the connection under the lower section of the windscreen trim. Porsche fit the GPS reciever just above where the cabin air filter is located , so every time you have a service there is a risk of the cable connection being damaged or loosened. The physical connection isn't as robust as it could be either , the cable clips are small and fragile.
