PCM and Phone Module

Not sure if this post is in the right place, but just a query on the PCM and phone module please.

I have set my phone to connect automatically on bluetooth when I get in the car, but it appears I have to have the PCM switched on before I can use the phone?

On my partners Golf with a similar set up, the phone will connect whether the radio/unit is on or off, i.e phone menu appears on the central dash display and you can use it from the steering wheel stalks.

Does anyone know if this can be done on the Porsche please or do you have to have the PCM switched on all the time?

Sometimes I don't want the disc or the radio on just the phone connected. Appreciate you can mute radio/disc etc, or I could have a dedicated SIM, but is there anyway to use the phone with the PCM switched off?

Apologies if this is a stupid question but I cannot seem to find a way round this.

Cheers.

Barry.

Don't think it's possible. The PCM has to be on for the bluetooth to find the phone. I just turn the volume down on the radio etc as I like to have the sat nav display up!

The Golf is far better really, as soon as you put the key in the ignition the phone is automatically connecting.

Now VAG has taken over Porsche, we might get some of these features carried over......:ROFLMAO:

Perhaps it needs a bigger battery since availability of certain functions is limited without engine running..
