Hi all I am now the proud owner of my 2nd Porsche...Just changed from a 2001 Boxster S into a 2006 2.7 with a whole host of great extras. I am very suprised how much nicer the 987 is than thE old S, Its the PCM that confuses me. I have the 2005 DVD. I asked a dealership about upgading to a more upto date map DVD and was told there was also an upgrade to be done on the unit is that right? Also I unerstand some units can play mp3 disks and others cant, is this another softeware upgrade? Would really appriciate any advice..

Ta!

The switch over was from April '05. To check what version you are running, hit the MAIN and TRIP buttons together and the s/w version is on the top left. If you do a search, i think i posted a lot more info on the revisions a few weeks back.

You'd also need to update the system and that includes the Nav side too since there have been changes to both the PCM and how the NAV works. This means you will need both update cd and NAV DVD.
