PCM cutting out.....

Has anyone experienced this?

I have a 2 year old Gen 2 997, and indeed in March had the first service. Since then a really annoying fault has developed where the PCM cuts out every five minutes or so, turns itself off and back on again. Extremely unhelpful when you use handsfree phone as much as I do, and not ideal when relying on the sat nav!

Any ideas of a fix - suspect it needs to go and see the OPC.

Could be a software glitch. Try removing the fuse that supplies the PCM unit and then put it back again. Should "reboot" the PCM. This usually works for Boxsters where the volume ocasionally goes permantly loud.

Yes, I've had the same intermittent reboot with mine although it always seems to do it when I first get into the car rather than in the middle of a drive for instance. It's more than likely software or even the hard-drive perhaps?. It doesn't do it very often for me to speak to the OPC but if it's that often I'd get it looked at.
