PCM Phone Problem

Hi All

I hope this has been answered before ....

OK I have a PCM/PCM2 fitted in my car, and I have just bought a new PAYGO SIM card for it (cheaper than adding a new SIM to my account).

In order to register the SIM with the network they want what is called an IMEI number. Apparently this is behing the battery on the phone.:0(

How do you find out what the IMEI number of the PCM phone is ?

The lady I spoke to in Bombay didn't have a clue .. too far off script

One solution is to register the SIM to my handset, then take it out and put in the car .... but I want to try and do it the proper way first

Regards

Tim

I 'solved' the problem by putting the SIM Card into my mobile handset, and registering it from there (giving the operator the IMEI from my phone).

After registering, I put the SIM in the PCM2 and it just worked.

I am snot strictly sure this was a valid thing to do ... but it worked.

I also seem to be able to make calls from the car with no credit on the PAYGO card ..... interesting :0)

Cheers

Tim

On most mobile handsets, you can display the IMEI number on the screen by keying in *#06#
