PCM unable to find telephone network

Anyone else had this problem? My PCM telephone module is unable to find a network. I don't use the telephone much and only recently became aware of the fault but I think the cause may be a faulty antenna connection that could be related to a windscreen replacement a few months back.

Is the same antenna used for the traffic updates?

The car is booked into an OPC for next week.

Could be Allan, though I thought the GSM phone antenna was in the bumper. The radio aerial is in the windscreen, and the TMC traffic updates are broadcast on Classic FM which is where the 2nd tuner will be listening to - phone and radio use different aerials.

No doubt the OPC will fix, I hope it won't cost you !

Thanks for the info Rob. I wasn't sure where the phone antenna was, so when I booked it in to the OPC I asked if it was in the windscreen and the person I spoke to said he thought it might be. So may be a case of the blind leading the blind. I'm not expecting it to cost me as I still have nearly 4 months left on the warranty.

Disuse atrophy led to my car's SIM card being quarantined by Vodaphone but a call to them reactivated it. The phone has to be used at least once in a 3 month period to avoid this!!
Hopefully this will sort your problem!

Andy, thanks for the suggestion, however, I just tried putting the sim in a hand held phone and it works fine. It looks as though the fault does lie within the PCM, but still it's as well to check these things out; I don't want my drive to the OPC to be a waste of time.

Problem sorted today - faulty antenna replaced - everything is now back to normal. While at the OPC an update to the engine compartment fan operation was installed, not sure of the details but apparently it's not an issue worthy of a recall just something that is done at the first convenient opportunity.
