Hi i have done some digging and found this box of tricks to interface old and new ipods with a pcm1. The box iis called a solisto extra and is available on ebay (germany) for about a hundred quid. Does anybody have any experience of this system or is there somthing better out there any advice welcome thanks peter

ps Iwould have put a link in if i could sorry

i had one, worked OK, but make sure you get the right lead for your ipod i.e. hte new ipods require a different lead to the older sort.
system couldnt cope with more than 50 tracks per playlist, but that was more the becker head unit i was connecting it to rather than the solisto unit
well made and simple to fit

I fitted one about 6 months ago. Great bit of kit. The new ones are ok with new and old iPods. The only problem I found was if using iPhone with a Bluetooth phone kit. The interface and the Bluetooth can conflict and cause some odd problems.

A big improvement over the cd changer though

thanks for your input i have pondered removing the pcm1 and fitting somthing a bit more recent and media friendly but i like the original look i will ponder some more thanks peter

you could always change it for a new double din sat nav system like pioneer or kenwood - with everything included and bang upto date satnav?
its far less of a compramise, and the hard part is the change around to a double din, which you already have, so it would almost be plug and play to fit it ? plus put the old one up for sale which proabably give you a couple of hundred back towards what youd paid for the new one?
