PCM1 upgrade question

Hi guys, ive got the pcm 1 system but ive got the bose upgrade which i think is 6 speakers and 2 subs (i may be wrong on this so if someone can correct me that would be great). I would like a headunit that does radio, satnav and has some form of input from my ipod. I tried the solistro but i need to get another box and i just wonder what sort of price changing the headunit would be as im not really up on car stereos and stuff and wasn't sure if i need an amp.

Cheers

Chris

I can't remember if yours is model year 2001 or 2002. (Not at my PC to look it up). Do you have option code 490 and/or 680?

490 was the Harman amp, and 680 was the Bose analogue amp which was only fitted to MY2002 cars as an option. They have different connections to the head unit, but both are easily adaptable to modern double-DIN systems. There was also a 680 option for MY2001 which was the DSP package, just to confuse things.

Can't really make a recommendation, as I'm out of touch and the game has moved on a lot since I did my Turbo installation. The Parrot Asteroid and Pioneer AppRadio seem it be the in things these days. Loads to choose from though.

Err i cant remember either with regards to the code. The registraion date is something like 21/12/2001 so 2002 MY? I was hoping for an all in 1 type unit for a more 'OEM' type look.

Yes, it sounds like MY2002. Either way, fitting a more modern system won't be a problem. If you are the techie type, take a look at the AppRadio.

I had a look and it doesnt have any of those numbers, but its definatly pcm 1 and im sure its the bose system as thats whats on the speaker grills ive seen this, does it look like it will do the job?
