PCM2 SatNav

The disc in my 2005 987 is of 2004 vintage, so a lot of new roads just don't appear. I was quoted over £400 by my local Porsche Centre to upgrade. This just doesn't seem good value for money. I've come across www.satnav-updates.com who are advertising new (2010) discs for £39.95. Wondered if anyone had used them and what their experiences were.

Strange they are refering to CD's for a DVD based system. Also your car will need the software upgrade to version 3 and probably the DVD unit upgrade as well. All of which are available from sources on this forum.[;)]

The disks they list are CDs for PCM2.0, and you need the DVD map disk for your PCM2.1.

Also, you will almost certainly need to update the firmware in your PCM unit and navigation drive, using update disks, before you can use the MY2010 map DVD. I have the update disks, so drop me an email if I can help.

Edit: Beat me to it Geoff!!
