PDK gearbox bug

You don't say what year your car is, but most problems with earlier PDK boxes seem to be software related, and updating the software seems to cure most ailments. I would suggest asking the PC to update it, if they haven't already done so.

If any other members have experienced this problem please let me know.

On starting my Cayman S a couple of weeks ago I found that I had a warning message saying "You may not be able to select REVERSE" and on driving off I found the PDK gearbox would only engage the even gears. Managed to get home and on re-starting the car the fault disappeared. I subsequently booked the car into my local OPC to see if they could identify any issue. Two days later no problem found and still waiting for a response from the factory.

I had an overtemp' warning which caused no problems in the driving and went off after a couple of seconds, that was due to an intermittent fault on an internal sensor which was changed a few days later but I'm guessing that they are curious what caused your problem, as Richard says maybe a software update will correct it, they will have done a diagnostic so it would be interesting to know if they found something or nothing...

The factory will probably tell them to check a couple of things then refresh the software.
