PDK Paddles

Hi Guys

Seeking a little info please.

I currently have a 997.2 and would like to change up (excuse the pun) to a 991.1.. my questions is about the gear shift on the early 991's.. I have seen 2012 and 2013 models advertised with the gearshift buttons (Like mine) and others with paddles and a different steering wheel.. Could somebody clarify when the "Paddles" were available and if they were a designated option when new or a retrofit? or what year they became standard if thats the case,

Cheers.

Cars sold after August 2009 had the paddle option available from new. However, Porsche decided to allow owners of older models to switch from the steering wheel-mounted buttons PDK cars were originally fitted with. The paddles are mounted on the three-spoke steering wheel taken from the Porsche 911 Turbo.
Regards,

Clive

As Clive says the paddles on my 991.1 came with the sport design steering wheel (item No 840) and were ordered when specifying. I do not know whether they can be retro fitted.

Thanks Guys..

So Clive, out of interest does that mean I can retrofit my 997.2 with that wheel and paddles in place of the wheel with buttons? or have i miss read your reply?

Cheers

You can change from the thumb type gear change wheel to paddles on all PDK 911 and mid-engined cars. It is a Porsche tequipment part - check out that site for your model.

Thats great ..cheers
