PDK / Sports Exhaust - Boxster S

Evening all, I've had a loaner 981 Boxster S from my OPC for the last few days (and now a further 4 days until my 986 is ready). An almost fully specced out car complete with Sports Exhaust / PDK. Being an owner of a GTS 911 with said options and a previous GenII S for 4 years I was interested to see the differences. I've loaned an S before but standard exhaust.

My conclusion to the difference: WOW and WOW! How good is that Sports exhaust especially with the roof down!! In manual with Sports+ enabled, it's simply sounds race-car like. The bangs/pops/crackles and downshift blips are simply addictive. My GTS sounds nice but NOT this nice. Mated with the PDK, the Boxster feels alive on a brisk drive. Upshifts in Sport/+ are much much faster than the first gen PDK and I have to say it feels close to perfection. Anyone compared the two and come to the same conclusion?

Simply, could I see myself or the missus in a Boxster GTS now? Very much so..... What a car.

I feel an late evening drive about to happen.

agreed 100%
i have had almost back to back loans for a month each of 987 PDK gen11
preceded by a month with 981 S with PDK
the two are in my opinion ,light years apart from point ov view of PDK .
the 981 is VERY good ,and if it werent for the fact that I love the looks and handling of the spyder,i would very probably go for an S 981 with all the bits in the autumn.
excellent car and certainly makes you question the need for a 991(as chris harris puts it!)

I can only ditto the feeling, sun out, roof down sport exhaust and few pops and crackles the car looks good and sounds good, sound is IMO 50% of the joy in driving a sports car.
