PDK SPYDER QUESTION - display on steering whee?l

I've just had sport mode retro fitted to my 2010 Spyder. When I drive other cars it told you if sport mode or launch control was activated with displays in the steering wheel. Mine didn't do it although it looks exactly the same wheel.

I rang the OPC who told me that because it was an older car it wouldn't do it or have the necessary software.

However I'm sure I drove some 2010 cars with chrono where it did display text ?!

So - does anyone have a 2010 car with sport chrono where the text comes up on the wheel ?

Cheers !

my mate had it fitted but also bought a new wheel as he had the button wheel and it worked in that

maybe the wheel is the issue.

Ever get the feeling your being fobbed off ?! Loving the sport mode but a bit underwhelmed with the OPC service - they didn't even tell me how it worked - just gave me the keys !

It's exactly the same paddle shift wheel as the sport chrono cars I drove. I really can't believe they manufacture two different wheels just for the sake of two LEDs. The original sales brochure at the launch of the car also clearly shows the text in the wheel..!

Hi Nat, definitely the wheel. A different wheel is supplied with displays in spokes when sport pack is fitted from new as a factory option.

My 2010 Spyder has the display in the wheel, so it's nothing to do with the age of the car. Can you see the words when the sun is on it, or if you shine a torch on it, you should be able to? Have to say though, I don't even notice mine when it is lit, so you're not missing much!
