PDK Steering wheel conversion to 996TT

Has anyone looked at the electrical and mechanical possibilties for the conversion of a PDK steering wheel to be used on a 996 tiptronic ?
Seems anything is possible with a will but the mechanics might make this an impossibility.
It would be interesting to know if anyone has actually looked at the practicalities....

Could an adapter be engineered you think ? As far as the electrical side is concerned, my thinking is that both the TT and PDK actuators are just simple switches and therefore shouldn't present much of a problem....(but I've been known to be wrong before....)

It's difficult to find a Techart version for older 911s.
I know there's a guy who does conversions for the 996 wheels but it seemed sensible to me that if an adapter could be made for the PDK wheels, it would be a better job. And I like the 997 PDK wheels....

I may just buy Richards and take it to my local engineering company who have built things for me before.....everything is possible.....[:)]

The airbags are different too. Memory fails me at the moment, but IIRC the 996 has one connector, and I know the 997 has two.

Thanks for that. Yes, I've seen those before but feel they're a bit pricey, particularly when you add the shipping and duty/VAT.
