hi new to this forum, looking at changing my pdk steering wheel on 2009 Cayman S with push buttons recently bought car cant get on with buttons.any feedback welcomed.

Ferno, I find the paddles awkward too, although I have only driven a PDK on OPC test drives. The paddles are what keep me with a manual. To all PDK users out there, if you could fit a non-paddle steering wheel, would the gear control be better?

I have a Cayman R with PDK and use the paddles all the time, with no issues, I did use the manual option on the box for a while but soon went back to the paddles. Once you're used to them they're fine.......or is there a problem I'm not aware of?

I have had 3 PDK Porsches and presently run a Q3 with PDK + paddles. You really need to drive the car for about 1000 miles to get completly used to it. Then you would never go back to manual. Stick with it. Don't forget, in answer to Keith, you can always forget the paddles and use the gear lever.

I only ever use the gear lever when pulling out of turnings on the change up to second ... The paddles become second nature. I drive to work in auto, and home in manual !

tbh I was more concerned about inadvertently blipping the change down paddle whilst cornering and finding the wrong rev's at the wrong time! Does this happen? Can it be prevented?

THANKS ALL for your coments, i have ordered new steereing wheel with paddles, from opc hatfield, £888.25 fitted. now that its booked in i am told their is also a recall on car regarding Fuel pressure switch? so they need it for 2 days. anyone else had recalls? Having only had the car for just over a week have to say the handling dare i say is better than my gt3, at silverstone next week so will get better assesment.
