PDK versus tiptronic

I have had a 997 C2 tip for nearly 4 years and really like the smooth gear changes under automatic mode and the manual change on the steering wheel buttons is quick enough for me.

I have now borrowed several cars with the PDK gearbox including using one on a trackday and the changes at high speeds are great.

However I can not get over how jerky the gear changes feel when driving around town - which I do a lot - and this is putting me off the PDK when I upgrade my car in due course (I understand the tiptronic is no longer available).

Have other people experienced this? I would be particularly interested in hearing from those of you who have gone from a tip to PDK.

i would also be very interested to hear if people find this a problem-as having had tips and driven pdks for a few days in total-my feeling was the opposite-that pdk was LESS jerky than tips at low speed.interesting to hear if others see differently as i am planning on pdk next yr

On my second PDK car, and have driven Tip cars, and have found it nothing less than smooth - especially when just pootling around in "auto" (Not that I do much of that![;)]) If fact with gentle driving and sport modes off I find it virtually impossible to spot a gear change! That said I spend 99% of the time using the paddles so that I know when it's changed a gear! One difference I have noticed between the two cars (C2S and turbo) is that the turbo "creeps" a lot more at idle.

i find it jerky when in sport mode when i am pulling of my drive which is on a slight slope but other wise great pdk
