PDLS+ issues

Hi all

Apologies if this has been covered here (I couldn't see how to search the new forum).

On my 992 GTS, when the PDLS+ is on "A" (in blue) it doesn't recognise oncoming cars to auto-dim main-beam, making me unpopular on the drive home on these dark winter nights...

My VW California was a bit intermittent initially when new but now works great.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

David

The difference between PDLS and PDLS + is that there are two additional features. At speeds higher than 40 mph, the dynamic main beam will turn on and detect oncoming traffic, also any vehicles in front of you. The light cone intensity and range are adjusted dependant on the surroundings. So, although the main beam may appear to be fully on with the blue dash light shining, there is reduced output to specific sections of the headlights to prevent dazzle to oncoming vehicles.

At other times, the headlights will revert to dipped mode automatically. and the blue dash light is extinguished. So if you're being flashed regularly by approaching vehicles, you may need to have the headlights checked and adjusted.

The second function is the electronic cornering lights that follow the steering and adjust the broadness and length of the light cones, increasing visibility of the vehicle’s surroundings.

Regards,

Clive

That's really interesting, thanks, Clive. I'll give it a test run.

Perhaps I should have attended the run-through at the dealership.

Thanks again

David
