Pela Pump

Hi,
just wondering if anyone has experience of using the Pela on a 996.
Don't need to change the filter, just want a higher grade oil so in theory i'm
thinking i can suck out and refill easily, won't matter if there's a couple of tablespoons left in the bottom.

And what about for a coolant change?

Any feedback appreciated

The Pela is a very good pump.

For some modern Cars that don't have a Drain plug there a godsend.

But on your 996, personally id do a proper oil change and always change the filter (£peanuts) and cut it open to check to see any particles of metal.

It would be like buying your wife a handbag for Xmas from Primark.
Your 996 will remember what you did, and spit it back at you later.

Thanks for the reply, would normally do the filter but the only reason for this change is to go to a better oil.
Was last done a couple of months ago.
Helps justify getting the pump as i've got it for a forklift witha 90 Kg undertray which has a habit of falling on your head.

The filter cost peanuts its really not worth the agro.

And it's a doddle changing the oil on the 996.

Pela Pump didn't get it all out so did a full change as usual.

When i say didn't get it all out it only reached about 2 Litres out of the eight.

In the 928 i seem to get 8.5 out of the 7.5 official capacity.

The normal pump method is to actually go down the dip stick not filler cap.

However like I said for the 996 I wouldn't recommend it.
