Petrol Flap

This might seem like a dumb question but here goes: -

I went to fill up with petrol yesterday only to find the fuel filler flap did not open. I locked and opened the car several times but had no joy. As I was virtually out of juice I rang Porsche Assistance. Unbeknown to me (and I'm surprised the dealer never told me this) there is a manual override inside the car.

The chap at Porsche Assistance told me that this failure could be caused by a weak battery, however my battery reading is showing 14.

Anyone else experienced this?

Never happened to me, but I was aware of the emergency pull inside the driver's door...RTFM?

Usually it's a plastic bush that jumps out, preventing it from locking - not unlocking. Maybe the actuator has packed up.

I was just about to say mine has developed the opposite problem. In this situation, does the bush just need refitting or will it have broken??

It is usually item no 3 in the photo. It hasn't happened to mine (yet) but I think the bush normally falls out and gets lost. The acuator pin then gets stuck the wrong side of the panel and won't come through the hole. There was a thread on here or the Boxster forum some while ago which might be worth searching for. (I'll leave that to you as I can't get much sense out of the search facility).
