Simple really - black wheels [8D]

Now I'm all ready for the banked oval at Rockingham tomorrow - Kumho Ecsta V700 soft compound track tyres, 235's up front and 275 behind [8D]. I've had a quick test on the road and even without them being fully warm, I can no longer spin the wheels in 3rd and 4th - result [:)]

And there was me saying that Paul's Turbo is the ultimate q-car......

Perhaps some stickers would add to the "yoof" look? [;)]

Seriously, I think black looks great. John, you know you want to....[8|]

But, but, but.........

This is only coz she's going on track tomorrow.

She'll be back to her normal non-assuming self on Monday, and I'll even put the comfy seats back in [8|]

By the way Paul, what spacers are you using on both your normal road wheels (are they also Boxster twists?) and your Black Beauties?

They do look the business and I think they'll look great on red also.
I just thought about it black just about always looks good with red so I'll get some wheels maybe like that done in black for my car I think.

None at all, and yes I now have three sets of the Boxster twists [8|]

The road wheel sets are both 7"ET55 front and 8.5"ET50 rear
The black tracks are 9"ET55 all round

Cheers. Promax commented that mine needed shims up front and suggested 5 or 6mm would improve front end grip. I've got a pair of 10mm shims but don't want to overdo it (I think i'd need longer studs for 10mm spacers anyway). I think in theory 3mm shims is mathmatically correct for the Boxster twist offset, but with lowered and firmer suspension a few more mm wont harm!!

Good luck at Rockingham tomorrow. I checked out the Snetterton evening event for the 7th June and there doesn't seem to be that many people signed up at the moment. I am 75% certain i'll be siging up though!

Looks great Paul, I'm a sucker for coloured wheels... Are they painted or powder coated?

Hope you had a good trackday today, the weather certainly seems good.

Best regards,
Peter

Tsk! Well, if you will go fitting these silly engines, what do you expect?

If I knew this was a problem for you, I'd have offered you a swap of my (stock) S2 engine. That would have solved your problem just as effectively without needing new wheels. AND I'd have swapped it over for you. (For a beer or two, of course.)

Oli.
(On a serious note - that does look very VERY tasty! I don't normally like non-standard wheels, but this exception is VERY welcome!)

Nice pics [8D] and they look better in the flesh when Dave popped round to show off his fully packed up car ready for a Ring trip this weekend

Jealous moi [:'(]

Paul, I love the almost subliminal advertising in your earlier post[;)][:D] Love the colour combo. I'd leave it like that.
