PH oddity

Apart from possibly the mesh I think it looks very nice.

I'm wondering if the mesh hides a large front mounted intercooler and hopefully the scoop does have a hole in the bonnet and is acting as an exit air vent to allow throughflow from the intercooler to escape in a low pressure area.

Rubbish advert though [] No real detail and worst of all no price?????

Oooh dear me no. No no no no no.

I don't like the 968 attachments (if you want a car to look like a 968 then buy one!)

Smoked windows - [:'(]
Smoked rear lights - [:'(][:'(]
That
interior (Red CS steering wheel, silver plasticwork) - [:'(][:'(][:'(]
That
grille - [:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(]

Oli.

Maybe he got Stevie wonder to fit the air scoop and chose the colour of the interior! [:D]

On another note. do any of you guys know where you can get the badge panel with the two holes in it to increase airflow. I quite like the look of it.

haven't you got an intercooler in the way? - does your car have a filter setup like this one, or does it retain the airbox & use cold air instead? [;)]

The base concept is good IMO - the 944 front and 968 rear combine the best aesthetic features of the 924/4468 searies. I don't think I'd do it though.

Detail lets it down; a case of not knowing when to stop I'd suggest and all the tinted and bolt-on addenda are totally unnecessary.

I think the interior is just burgundy, which is not my first choice but probably what the base car had which is fair enough. Not sure why you'd choose to paint the outside in a clashing blue colour in that case.

Overall: FAIL

That is the first time i've seen the 944/968 hybrid and I think it looks good. Really good in fact. Don't like the colour or the other "enhancements". I'd have no confidence that the person who's trying to sell it has done a good job installing the kit or looking after the car though! I bet the reverse bonnet scoop is just stuck on the surface of the bonnet without any holes being cut.

You're right, it is [&o] I checked out the Porscheshop web pages on the conversion and it clearly shows a picture with mounting holes only and no air vent. The intercooler is a standard one in the normal position too, so no need for that large cutout and mesh.

I withdraw my previous enthusiasm, but still like the overall look of the 968 rear and 944 front

..... but still like the overall look of the 968 rear and 944 front

So do I. But only when the 968 rear is on a 968 and the 944 front is on a 944.

I rather like the 968 front as well, but only on a 968 and only with the lights down.

I wouldn't give the car featured garage space. Complex bodywork conversions, on old cars, are often prompted by necessity rather than choice. Who could say what is lurking under that new paint and plastic surgery enhancements? []

Now that I've actually seen it on a proper computer rather than the phone I have to say I don't like it at all the colour is a bit too girly, the scoop just looks daft and the grill is ridiculous but I think that idea could be right in a better colour and without the unecassary bits added. I do quite like the 968 rear but still don't like the lights.

I like it, (apart from the scoop) but I have to admit it would be better in a different colour.

Edh,
I have a standard air box, will probably fit a performance panel filter. I want the badge panel with the two subtle holes like this:

The reason I want this is to allow more air to cool down the intercooler, thus reducing the intake charge. I think I found it at porscheshop but it was about £300 which I think is very excessive for a badge panel.

I might just buy a spare panel and cut holes in it.

Just get your current one cut by a bodyshop. I did that years ago, though I never really liked the look personally.

There's a minimal amount of ducting to be done also so you don't lose the air flow down the back of the bumper but all I had was some stiff but flexible plastic held in place with rivets.
