That was a cliiffhanger, no fingernails left!

However a Daf Variomatic with a RB211 in it is also faster than a 997s.

Anyone remember the Daf Variomatics? [:D]

Unfortunately yes, my Dad had a '33'.

And I nearly got wiped out by one whilst riding my bike when I was about 10. They would go as fast backwards as forwards, and an elderly neighbour decided to reverse his a few feet in his drive to make room for his up-and-over garage door. He only half sat in the car and pressed the accelerator with his left foot, but the movement backwards pushed his foot further to the floor. Result was car shot across road I had just cycled past into opposite neighbours car and pushed it backwards through their garage door! Meanwhile drivers door got folded back on gatepost. A narrow escape for me...

Yes (showing my age now) I had one as my first car a white DAF 33 with red upholstery. 6 volt battery so i was frightened to use the lights too much and it provided great entertainment when the brakes failed going downhill!!!
I then really moved up in the world to a Hillman Avenger caribbean blue with go faster stripes! Never thought i'd be participating in the heady world of porsche back then!!
