Phone Hands Free Kit

I bought a Carrera 4 yesterday to replace my Audi TT. In my defence, I have had a 944 and 3.2 previously. I was going to get a hands free kit for my Nokia, but looking in the owner's manual it gives you all the warnings about how they can damage the electrics. Unless of course supplied and fitted by Porsche.

Anyone out there have experience of this? Dou you have such a kit fitted? Carphone Warehouse fit one for £175, but would you trust your pride and joy to them?

Dont know about the wiring issue, but Im guessing its just a case of making sure people dont run a high power system off a 3a circuit or something; presumably Porsche use wire gauged to suit the application rather than one size throughout

i have a little Parrot Bluetooth one thats about the size of a matchbox; not very well integrated to the car (if thats what youre looking for) but mutes my stereo, directs audio through speakers etc which is enough for me..

i think halfrauds do the same kit for about 120 fitted, or the top of the line one (colour screen, etc) for about 180 inc fitting, but I wasnt keen on them fiddlign with my car either as the guys in the workshop looked about 12 and were having an elastic band fight when I poked my head around the door. In the end I ewnt to a local car audio place (cel direct in leicester) and they did a superb job and it worked out cheaper too! Ive used them before for speakers and things so knew they were good; if you can find a similar car audio place near to you who do good installs Im sure it will give you more peace of mind; they were wearing white gloves and fitting a new set of speakers, 2 amps and a nakamichi head unit into a DB9 when I dropped in (total cost 5k) so I thought they would be able to handle my little motor OK!..
