I have a 40th anniversary 996 and have a problem with the inbuilt phone, whether the sim card has been inserted into the head unit or not the wording on the screen alternates between phone off and checking card anyone come across this one before.
The car is a 2004 car with 7000miles on the clock.

Regards

Mike

I have recently bought a 2004 C4S with built in phone. i have had this message before even though the phone had been working ok prior to seeing it.
I removed the sim card and reinserted it while the engine was running and i knew i was in an area where i coud get reception and it seemed to right itself, i guess you have already tried this.

Hi, Im trying to fit an aftermarket mobile phone car kit (Bury cc9060) into a 2004 C2 Anniversary and via the Renntech forums, there are numerous mentions of a phone kit lead under the centre console - with all the relevant connections waiting to be used.
I've looked everywhere but can't find it.
Could it be under the seat where this OE kit is fitted ?

Regards & thanks,

Paul

The telephone preparation kit was only fitted as standard to US models, unfortunately. On a facelift 996 you will need to tap in to the fuse box or relay panel to get an ignition-switched positive feed.

Richard,

thanks for the quick response.
Time to get busy under the dash panel !
Thanks gain,

Paul
